Chartered Psychologist specialising in Music Psychology
Claire’s work focuses on how music can be used to support mental health, wellbeing, and sustainable performance. Through research, consultancy, and public engagement, she collaborate’s with musicians, educators, and organisations to turn psychological insight into meaningful change.
Claire has hands-on experience working with songwriters, composers, performers and musicians across the music industry and within academia. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology she then went on to complete a Doctorate focusing on the musical identities and lived experiences of professional orchestral musicians.
As an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and the British Psychological Society. Claire has been teaching Psychology for over a decade and is also a mentor for females starting their professional journey in the music industry. Additionally, she is a Post-Doctoral Affiliate of the Music In Human and Social Development Research Group.
As a Consultant Psychologist she advises and directs clients with a particular focus on music and mental health, movement and emotions. Claire also writes articles, presents information & creates podcasts to share psychological findings and disseminate her expertise.
